# How keyword usage is calculated

When you add keywords to ranktracker.

1 keyword, 1 engine & 1 location = 1 keyword

For example if you add

2 keywords, 2 engine, 4 location = 16 keywords

Why is it calculated this way? Well because our bot has to make 16 individual checks
